CBP Issues ISF Reminders


U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has published a notice via its Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) with reminders regarding the Importer Security Filing (ISF, 10+2) program.

The CSMS notice, published on December 16, 2009, gives a few general pieces of information including:
- ISF filing requirements become mandatory on January 26, 2010, and must be filed for all ocean shipments entering the U.S.
- Bonds are not yet required for ISF, however starting January 26, 2010, bond data must be submitted properly.

The notice also contains information with regard to certain ISF response and warning messages, as well as changes to ISF requirements found in the Customs and Trade Automated Interface Requirements (CATAIR).
