Airfreight Fuel Surcharges
As reported by IATA's Jet Fuel Price Monitor, the price of jet fuel increased steadily and reached its highest level of the year during the month of October. As a result, airfreight fuel surcharge costs have increased and Expeditors will adjust its airfreight fuel surcharges from the below regions to the following levels effective Monday, November 9, 2009.
From Europe/Africa:
- to North America: EUR 0.60/kg or USD 0.60/kg (or the local currency equivalent of the prevailing country)
- to Europe/Africa: EUR 0.60/kg or USD 0.60/kg (or the local currency equivalent of the prevailing country)
- to Middle East/Indian Sub-continent: EUR 0.60/kg or USD 0.60/kg (or the local currency equivalent of the prevailing country)
- to Asia: EUR 0.60/kg or USD 0.60/kg (or the local currency equivalent of the prevailing country)
- to Latin America: EUR 0.60/kg or USD 0.60/kg (or the local currency equivalent of the prevailing country)
- to South Pacific: EUR 0.60/kg or USD 0.60/kg (or the local currency equivalent of the prevailing country)
From Middle East / Indian Sub-continent:
- to North America: EUR 0.60/kg or USD 0.60/kg (or the local currency equivalent of the prevailing country)
- to Europe/Africa: EUR 0.60/kg or USD 0.60/kg (or the local currency equivalent of the prevailing country)

- intra Latin America: remains unchanged at USD 0.35/kg (or the local currency equivalent of the prevailing country)

From Asian origins, Expeditors provides information on adjustments to the fuel surcharge levels for exports through a country specific fuel surcharge matrix updated on a weekly basis. There are regular adjustments to airfreight fuel surcharges on shipments from Asia, and the changes can be viewed in the weekly matrix.
