Deadline for GSP Extension is November 18


On November 3, 2009, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) published in the Federal Register a notice regarding the filing of petitions for the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP).

The notice confirms the deadline of November 17, 2009 for the submission of petitions for:
- Competitive Need Limitation (CNL) waivers
- Determinations regarding GSP-eligible products not produced in the U.S. on January 1, 1995.

The GSP program allows for the importation of designated articles from designated countries free of duty.

The notice also includes instructions and procedures for submitting the aforementioned petitions.
